GSC is a wooden case for my radically out-of-date rack effects. I imagine these rack effects were very popular during the highly-processed guitar craze of the late eighties and early nineties. They were also in demand during the millenial paranoia of '99 when everyone wanted to sound like they were screaming into a tube.
These rack effects currently litter the floors at any second-hand music store and can be had for less than $50.00. The problem is now that you got the effect for such a bargain, why would you pay as much or more for a case?
The first attempt at GSC was an aborted case made out of old Formica countertop, black walnut harvested along the banks of the Plum Creek in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, and a birch bottom. We didn't measure, so only one rack fit and it looked like a monster.
The gem to your left, though, is a birch and cherry dream. Thoughtfully routed and gently raised from the amp by some 1970s table legs hacked into stubs, and finally dyed and lacquered to prevent any liquid interference.
Play on, you digital dinosaurs.
